Outfit 23: Flower Dress

This outfit was one that I'd been waiting for the perfect weather to wear- and the perfect occasion. Since it's a Friday, dresses are always a safe bet! I wanted to feel put together since I was taking a test this morning, so it was a nice start to the day! And the weather turned out to be absolutely perfect- starting off a little cooler in the morning but it warmed up to be gorgeous out!

Dress: Target - $4
I got the dress at Target last spring- on clearance for $4! It's very whimsical, and ties in the back. It's pretty see-through, so I added the black tights! Because it's so thin, it's definitely something that needs today's weather to work- so I really lucked out! I love the big flower patterns and the smaller flower patterns combined- it feels very Secret Garden. The dress by itself needs a little accessorizing, but it's beautiful by itself too.
Ring: Forever 21 - $5.80

The butterfly ring is a new one to my collection- I got it three weeks ago at Forever 21! The colors are nice and neutral, and it's super sparkly! I love it so much. It was more expensive for a butterfly ring- $5.80, but it was a must have.

The black tights are a necessity for any wardrobe- as is the black tank-top I'm also wearing underneath the dress. Even though the dress is pretty transparent, the black tank top and tights pull it together so it's appropriate and pretty! The tights are from American Eagle, and were a bit pricier, but are totally worth it- they were $20 for a 2-pack. The black tank top is from Kohl's, and it was only $5. The belt ($3) was in Outfit 1, and was also featured in Outfit 14. My shoes (gift) were in Outfit 15. And I totally thought I had already worn my earrings for an outfit! They're basic gold hoops, and were from Forever 21 I think. I'll definitely wear them again so I'll photograph them next time!

Outfit 22: Green and Brown Shirts

Perfect for fall weather!

Today's outfit is one that I like to go to when I don't know what to wear and I don't really have an occasion to wear anything special. I've worn this outfit a few times- but I've updated the jeans, boots, and necklace with new additions to my wardrobe. And, with the erratic weather, this was perfect for today!

Brown shirt: Target - $4
I'll start with the brown thing. I don't really know what to call it- it's not a sweater, it's not really a cardigan, it's not a jacket... so... I'm at a loss. I got it a few years ago at Target on clearance, and it was only $4. It's great in the summer to go over a nice sun dress, and great for the fall to add a touch to an already warm outfit! I like that it's the length of the shirt- they go together quite well.
Green shirt: ?

The green shirt I've had for even longer than the brown shirt. I don't have any idea where it's from, but it's super cute! The empire waist gives it a little more style, and I like that it's long-sleeved- I can wear it when it's cooler. And, green is my favorite color...
Necklace: Forever 21 - $5

I got my necklace at Forever 21 this summer because it was only $5. I don't really have a lot of long necklaces, so I wanted to get one when I had the chance- and it was definitely a great investment. It's not easy to wear, but I love the cluster of jewels and the colors. It just feels so medieval!

Boots: CHKD Thrift Store - $7
My boots were the most recent purchase! I got them at a CHKD thrift store about a month ago. I wasn't really looking to buy any more boots- especially dark brown suede ones. These are my third pair. But, when my best friend told me that they were me and that I had to get them (coming from someone who doesn't usually take much interest in my love of fashion) I didn't really have an option. So, for $7, I got a perfectly wonderful pair of brown suede boots! These are different though- because they are tighter to my leg than my other pair, and they don't have any embellishments.

My jeans ($12) were in Outfit 6, and were also in Outfit 11. I tried to take a picture of my earrings- but none of them turned out well at all, so I'll go without this time. They're simple studs anyway- I'm sure I'll wear them again!

Outfit 21: Teal Long-Sleeve Shirt

Cold weather... warm clothes!

Today was COLD!!!! I really didn't know what to wear- as I'm finding that I don't have a lot of cute winter clothes. But, I settled on jeans, boots, and a long-sleeve shirt that looks good with a hoodie over it! And... this is what I got :) Today was definitely an especially long day- so I was glad to have a pretty comfy outfit (except for the boots) to get me through the day.
Teal Shirt: Forever 21 - $10
I got the teal long-sleeve shirt 4 years ago from Forever 21. I don't remember how much it cost, but I'm pretty confident it was under $10. Plus, I was working there at the time, so it was 10% off. I think I've set foot in that store a total of 3 times since I worked there... not so great memories. But, I love the color and the ribbon on the button-line (if that makes sense). It's very pretty and girly, but also practical. I wore the lace cream tank-top underneath it mostly because it matched, but it added an extra feminine touch. It's more pretty than practical- but definitely pulled my outfit together!

Earrings: Gift

My earrings were a gift from my aunt. She's an amazing woman- and amongst many other gifts, she's extremely creative and loves to make jewelry! She made these earrings especially for me- they even have little butterfly crystals! I love the colors, and how they dangle! These are a favorite pair of mine- no one else has a pair like them, and they mean a lot to me. And, they are SO pretty!

My jeans ($40) were in Outfit 4. and my boots were in Outfit 18. This was a good outfit for today- more on the simple side for me, so I hope to get some new winter things to update my wardrobe soon!

Outfit 20: Comfy Gray Sweater

Oh cold weather...

So, after discovering how much I dislike the rain, I remembered just how much I dislike the cold. Today was the first day I wore a scarf, and I actually pulled out of a pair of mittens! To ring in the cold weather, which I will have to do more shopping for, I decided to wear a sweater!

Sweater: Village Thrift - $5

I got this gray sweater at the end of last week when I took my sister thrifting. It has two very small holes in it that I hope to patch up soon, but it's soooo warm and cozy I had to get it! It's Express too, so I know that it was probably worth it. I only paid $5! I need to figure out other ways to wear it, because I don't feel like this is the best, but it's a start!

Scarf: Gift

The scarf was something that my boyfriend had for a long time- and when he was cleaning things out last year he was looking to get rid of it. Since he knew that I loved to add to my wardrobe, he asked me if I wanted it! And... I said yes. I love that it's green, and it's also really soft so it's comfortable to wear. It looks awesome with solid colors too!
Shoes: Payless? Shoe Carnival?
My shoes are old- I've had them for a long time. Because it was threatening to rain and I didn't want to just put on my regular tennis shoes, I went for these instead. They're nice and comfy, and have a velcro strap! I feel like a little kid again when I wear them. I don't usually wear them, but since I was trying so many new things today, I figured it couldn't hurt! And, it worked, though I don't think they were the ideal match. Black ankle boots would have been better... but I don't have any... yet :)

My jeans ($30) were in Outfit 5, and my earrings were in Outfit 17. This outfit was cozy for today, but I probably won't wear it again because I wasn't that crazy about it. It just didn't seem to mesh together very well. The scarf brought it together, so overall I liked it but didn't love it.

Outfit 19: Detailed Jeans

First Fall Saturday
So, I've learned a little bit about myself this past week. First of all, I hate the rain. It's wonderful if you have no where to go and nothing to do and want to stay inside and watch movies all day. But the second you have to venture out in it- it's miserable. Especially when you're trying to pick out outfits to wear that are cute and fun! Secondly, I found out that I need to go shoe shopping. I'm in desperate need of black flats and black ankle boots or regular boots without heels. I have 4 pairs of boots with heels- but that's not always so practical. Third, I have to start time managing better! So, after those three revelations, I am back to blogging about my outfits. I didn't take pictures when I wore jeans, tennis shoes, and t-shirts because I didn't think there was anything special about it. But, I did have a great outfit for yesterday! My boyfriend and I went up to IKEA to do some shopping, so I wanted an outfit that was casual but still cute.
Jeans: Kohl's
My jeans I've had since sophomore year of high school. They are probably my favorite pair of jeans. I love the design on the leg, and the distressing as well! Unfortunately, because I've had them for so long, they are starting to develop holes in inappropriate places. I will be patching them up soon though, because I love them! I have no idea how much they cost, but I remember getting them from Kohl's.
Shirt: American Eagle
My shirt is from American Eagle, and I've had it for just as long as I've had the jeans! I can't remember the price, but I'm almost positive I got it on clearance. I love it- it's so cute, and the brown and gold are so pretty. You can see the delicate pattern on the bottom of the shirt and on the edge of the sleeves. The scoop neck top is also pretty. This outfit has been a favorite of mine- and it's great for a fall day of shopping!
Boots: Christmas present
My boots were a Christmas present from my grandma this past year! I love wearing them. The brown is a great color, and even better, they're not heels! So I can wear them anywhere. The tie in the back is trendy, though it comes undone very easily. I also like that they sound official- they click like they're heels but they're still flats!

My belt was in Outfit 3, my earrings ($15 in a set) in Outfit 11, and my ring ($5) was in Outfit 1! I loved wearing this outfit yesterday- it was super comfy and cheap!

Outfit 18: Gold and White Blouse

Ready for the rain...

Finally... I have strayed from orange! I had some trouble picking out this outfit knowing the weather, so I went for boots again. Luckily, this plan worked better because they aren't suede! And, I picked jeans that are already a little worn but still look nice. So, even though I got soaked this evening, I was pretty good for the rest of the day!

Blouse: Hand-me-down
I got the white and gold blouse from one of my friends! Two of my friends went through their closets around the same time and I happened to be around when they were looking to give stuff away, so I got the blouse for free! It's so pretty, and it works well with jeans or with a suit. I love the colors too! And, the satin ribbon :)

Tank Top: American Eagle: $8

My brown tank-top is from American Eagle. I got it for $8 3 years ago on a clearance rack! I love it because it's very flattering, and even though it's form fitting it doesn't cling to me in the wrong places. I like the detailing on the top, and the color is great! Looks awesome with gold for today's outfit!

Boots: Payless Shoe Source

I've had my boots for at least 4 years now. Like my boots from Outfit 17, they are from Payless! I don't remember how much they cost, because I've had them for so long, but they were my first pair of boots. While the heel is a little bit higher so they hurt my feet after a while, they're super cute and dress up any outfit!

Necklace: Christmas Gift

The necklace was a Christmas gift from my god-family! I don't have another necklace like it, and I love the gold and hearts on it. I just think it's so pretty! I also like that I can wear it with an edgier look but also a dressier outfit.

Bracelets: Village Thrift - $1
My bracelets are from my favorite thrift store- Village Thrift! I picked them up about a month ago, for only $1! I'm not usually a fan of bangles, but because they were gold and silver and I'm often wearing a mix of the two, I thought they could be fun. And I figured for only a dollar it was worth seeing if I could incorporate them in my outfits! I was pleasantly surprised- even though they're definitely pretty noisy.

My jeans ($20) were in Outfit 12, and my earrings ($0.79) were in Outfit 8. This was a great outfit for a rainy day, but I'm glad to be able to curl up in sweatpants and relax for a while :)

Outfit 17: New Orange Dress

Orange and brown... it's definitely fall!

So, I obviously fail at staying away from the color orange. Considering I bought this dress on Friday, and said I wouldn't be wearing orange as much. Oh well. I LOVE this outfit so much. It took me a while to get used to, because it's a little different for me, but I've fallen in love with it. However, it did not mix well with the rain today, and I probably only had the outfit on for a total of 6 hours. You can see the wet spots on my dress :( I'll probably try to wear it differently soon. :)

Dress: Village Thrift - $2.50
My dress was a discovery at Village Thrift a few months ago, actually. I tried it on, and liked it a lot, but wasn't really sure about it. Since I didn't have anyone else with me that time, I rationalized that when I came back with someone, if it was still there, I would get their opinion and then buy it. Well, two months later, it's still there! I took my sister thrifting for the first time, and this was one of my finds. While it's a little big on me, it's a perfect relaxed dress. I absolutely love the length of the skirt, and as orange seems to be becoming my new favorite color, the color is great too! It's definitely a great dress for the fall season. I got this dress and another, and when I got to the register I found out they were half off! So, instead of being $5, this dress was only $2.50! What a deal!
Cardigan: Target - $5

My jacket/cardigan I've had for a few years, and I'm pretty confident I got it off a clearance rack at Target, so I'd imagine it was about $5. It's a great jacket, especially for the amount of brown I've been wearing. It also looks awesome over a long-sleeved shirt or sweater, so it will probably be a part of my wardrobe pretty quickly!

Boots: Payless Shoe Source - $12
My boots are certainly a favorite. I can't even begin to describe how upset I was when they got soaked in the rain today. I don't have rain boots right now because my old ones broke, and so I thought by wearing boots with a heel I could stay a little bit dryer. Well, they are currently hanging off of my handlebars on my bike to dry out. I love these boots though- they're a really pretty brown color (not that you can tell from this picture) and the gold buckle is really cute. The cut of the top definitely adds more style to the boots too! They go great with almost anything. And, I only paid $12 for them 5 years ago at Payless!
Ring: Forever 21 - $3.80 (Gift)

My ring is brand new! I went to the mall with my boyfriend on Friday, and he humored me while I explored the jewelry in Forever 21. Sure enough, I found a new butterfly ring! I love the colors of it- especially since orange is a new favorite color of mine. And, being the wonderful boyfriend that he is, he bought me the ring! I absolutely love it.

Earrings: Claire's?

My earrings are quite old, as I've had them for years and can't remember when I got them. I'm almost positive that they're from Claires and from the sale area, but I couldn't say for sure. The colors matched today's outfit perfectly, with the gold and the orange beads!
My belt was pictured in Outfit 3.This outfit was a lot of fun to wear- even though the rain was miserable!
Total Cost: $19.50
