Outfit 18: Gold and White Blouse

Ready for the rain...

Finally... I have strayed from orange! I had some trouble picking out this outfit knowing the weather, so I went for boots again. Luckily, this plan worked better because they aren't suede! And, I picked jeans that are already a little worn but still look nice. So, even though I got soaked this evening, I was pretty good for the rest of the day!

Blouse: Hand-me-down
I got the white and gold blouse from one of my friends! Two of my friends went through their closets around the same time and I happened to be around when they were looking to give stuff away, so I got the blouse for free! It's so pretty, and it works well with jeans or with a suit. I love the colors too! And, the satin ribbon :)

Tank Top: American Eagle: $8

My brown tank-top is from American Eagle. I got it for $8 3 years ago on a clearance rack! I love it because it's very flattering, and even though it's form fitting it doesn't cling to me in the wrong places. I like the detailing on the top, and the color is great! Looks awesome with gold for today's outfit!

Boots: Payless Shoe Source

I've had my boots for at least 4 years now. Like my boots from Outfit 17, they are from Payless! I don't remember how much they cost, because I've had them for so long, but they were my first pair of boots. While the heel is a little bit higher so they hurt my feet after a while, they're super cute and dress up any outfit!

Necklace: Christmas Gift

The necklace was a Christmas gift from my god-family! I don't have another necklace like it, and I love the gold and hearts on it. I just think it's so pretty! I also like that I can wear it with an edgier look but also a dressier outfit.

Bracelets: Village Thrift - $1
My bracelets are from my favorite thrift store- Village Thrift! I picked them up about a month ago, for only $1! I'm not usually a fan of bangles, but because they were gold and silver and I'm often wearing a mix of the two, I thought they could be fun. And I figured for only a dollar it was worth seeing if I could incorporate them in my outfits! I was pleasantly surprised- even though they're definitely pretty noisy.

My jeans ($20) were in Outfit 12, and my earrings ($0.79) were in Outfit 8. This was a great outfit for a rainy day, but I'm glad to be able to curl up in sweatpants and relax for a while :)
Total Cost: $29.79

Outfit 17: New Orange Dress

Orange and brown... it's definitely fall!

So, I obviously fail at staying away from the color orange. Considering I bought this dress on Friday, and said I wouldn't be wearing orange as much. Oh well. I LOVE this outfit so much. It took me a while to get used to, because it's a little different for me, but I've fallen in love with it. However, it did not mix well with the rain today, and I probably only had the outfit on for a total of 6 hours. You can see the wet spots on my dress :( I'll probably try to wear it differently soon. :)

Dress: Village Thrift - $2.50
My dress was a discovery at Village Thrift a few months ago, actually. I tried it on, and liked it a lot, but wasn't really sure about it. Since I didn't have anyone else with me that time, I rationalized that when I came back with someone, if it was still there, I would get their opinion and then buy it. Well, two months later, it's still there! I took my sister thrifting for the first time, and this was one of my finds. While it's a little big on me, it's a perfect relaxed dress. I absolutely love the length of the skirt, and as orange seems to be becoming my new favorite color, the color is great too! It's definitely a great dress for the fall season. I got this dress and another, and when I got to the register I found out they were half off! So, instead of being $5, this dress was only $2.50! What a deal!
Cardigan: Target - $5

My jacket/cardigan I've had for a few years, and I'm pretty confident I got it off a clearance rack at Target, so I'd imagine it was about $5. It's a great jacket, especially for the amount of brown I've been wearing. It also looks awesome over a long-sleeved shirt or sweater, so it will probably be a part of my wardrobe pretty quickly!

Boots: Payless Shoe Source - $12
My boots are certainly a favorite. I can't even begin to describe how upset I was when they got soaked in the rain today. I don't have rain boots right now because my old ones broke, and so I thought by wearing boots with a heel I could stay a little bit dryer. Well, they are currently hanging off of my handlebars on my bike to dry out. I love these boots though- they're a really pretty brown color (not that you can tell from this picture) and the gold buckle is really cute. The cut of the top definitely adds more style to the boots too! They go great with almost anything. And, I only paid $12 for them 5 years ago at Payless!
Ring: Forever 21 - $3.80 (Gift)

My ring is brand new! I went to the mall with my boyfriend on Friday, and he humored me while I explored the jewelry in Forever 21. Sure enough, I found a new butterfly ring! I love the colors of it- especially since orange is a new favorite color of mine. And, being the wonderful boyfriend that he is, he bought me the ring! I absolutely love it.

Earrings: Claire's?

My earrings are quite old, as I've had them for years and can't remember when I got them. I'm almost positive that they're from Claires and from the sale area, but I couldn't say for sure. The colors matched today's outfit perfectly, with the gold and the orange beads!
My belt was pictured in Outfit 3.This outfit was a lot of fun to wear- even though the rain was miserable!
Total Cost: $19.50

Outfit 16: Flower Print Cardigan

Hot Friday!

Today's outfit was last minute- I knew it was going to be really hot out, so I almost just went for shorts and a T-shirt. But I decided to take an extra minute and see if I had anything else a little bit better, so I ended up with this!

Shorts: Kohl's?
I've had these shorts for years- my guess would be that they're from Kohl's, but I couldn't be too sure. I love having a pair of white shorts- they go well with anything, and are a little bit dressier than regular jean shorts. And these fit really well, so I'm definitely comfy in them on a Friday afternoon!
Shirt: H&M - $10
So, I've discovered that I actually have more orange than I thought I did in my closet! This is my third orange outfit this week- so I probably won't be wearing much orange for a while! I'm pretty sure this is all I have... Anyway, I bought the shirt at H&M 5 years ago to wear for after-prom my junior year of high school. It was $10, and I love the beading and detailing on the top of the shirt. It's cute, and has a very relaxed fit so I can wear it with anything.

Cardigan: Thrift Store - $3

My cardigan was a great find back in July. I got it when I was out shopping with my mom at a thrift store- the same time I got my cardigan in Outfit 1! This is such a pretty cardigan, and it only cost $3. I love the print, and I love that it goes with so many different things. The pattern isn't overwhelming, and it's perfect for any season!

My necklace ($5) and earrings ($0.80) were both in Outfit 8. The shoes (gift) were in Outfit 3. This was a great outfit for one class, napping, going thrifting with my sister, and going to the mall with my boyfriend! I got some awesome things today- so I will be wearing them soon!
Total Cost: $18.80

Outfit 15: Teal Ruffle Shirt

Ready for 90 degree fall weather

My post today will be brief- I'm exhausted and haven't had a moment to myself at all today! I picked out my outfit today based solely on the weather. I knew it was going to be hot, so I wanted to wear something comfy, without layering and without just throwing on shorts and a T-shirt. So, I pulled out a new shirt and an old skirt and this is what I got!

The skirt I've had for ages- I honestly couldn't tell you when I got it, where it's from, or how much it was. Because I can't remember I'm certainly not calculating it in my cost! But it's a favorite- it looks dresser than it is, because it's black, and the length is ideal for me. It also has very thin green stripes on it- my favorite color! The fabric is light and smooth, so it's great for a hot day.
Shirt: Kohl's - $3

I got the shirt at Kohl's a few weeks ago (when I got the yellow dress from Outfit 14) and it was also on the clearance rack for $3! As much as I love teal, I knew I had to buy it... and it's super cute and comfy!

Shoes: Christmas Gift

The shoes were a Christmas gift to match a dress- both of which I got almost two years ago. I've worn these shoes out though! They are definitely a favorite, and an essential. Black flats are a must! I love these because they have a bow on them, and are super cute :) It's time to replace them though!
Earrings: Birthday Gift

My earrings were part of a set my sister gave me for my 21st birthday. They match the bracelet from Outfit 14, which I'm also wearing today! They're a great accessory- every girl needs a classic go-to pair of earrings! These are mine!

The second bracelet was in Outfit 10, so it's not pictured here. This outfit was great- but now I'm ready to change into sweatpants and call it a day!

Outfit 14: Yellow Dress and Butterfly Necklace

Summer dress for the first day of fall!

Today's outfit was one that I'd worn recently, but I loved it so much I wanted to wear it again, while the weather was still warm! I don't have many things that are yellow, and I LOVE the pattern of the skirt! It's such a pretty, girly dress and is easily a favorite outfit now :)

Dress: Kohl's - $6

I bought the dress on a clearance rack at Kohl's a few weeks ago! I was out with my sister and my boyfriend, and we needed to go into Kohl's to search for something. While my boyfriend was out looking for things, my sister and I literally ran to the clearance racks because the sales were so ridiculous. I tried on so many things- but when I put this dress on, I got so excited I knew that I'd be getting it. And the best part- it only cost me $6!!! I love the tulle under the skirt- it's just so much fun!!!
Black sweater: Marshall's - $12

The black sweater was a purchase from Marshall's a couple years ago. I got it for $12 during the summer, and it's been such a great sweater to wear over anything! I love the poofy shoulders, and the length of it. It definitely makes an outfit look longer and breaks up the color of this skirt perfectly.

Bracelets: Gifts
The bracelets were both gifts for my birthday! I got the one with larger circles and beads for my 19th birthday from the guy I was dating, which was actually more of an insult at the time than a gift. He went into the jewelry store and said "I'd like to buy a bracelet for a girl who doesn't wear bracelets." We'd been dating for two years, I rarely ever wore bracelets and actually said I didn't want any, and he went out and bought me one. But, now I really appreciate it as a pretty piece of jewelry and can enjoy wearing it as I've incorporated bracelets into my wardrobe. My second bracelet, the small silver string of beads, was a gift to me for my 21st birthday from my sister! It was such a sweet gift, and is a gorgeous bracelet that I love wearing!

Kohl's- Gift
My necklace is extremely special to me. When we were shopping at Kohl's and I was deciding to get the yellow dress, my boyfriend was trying to secretly get me something. But the cashiers were taking forever, and evidently I kept coming up to him at all the wrong times. So he finally had to tell me that he was trying to surprise me, and I  got the hint and went to the car to wait. When he came out of the store he had this bright blue case in his hands, and gave it to me! Inside was this gorgeous butterfly necklace. I absolutely love it- it's the only butterfly necklace I have or would ever want. It's definitely one of the sweetest gifts I've ever been given.

The shoes ($20) and belt ($3) were in Outfit 1 and the earrings were in Outfit 2. Because I've worn the shoes so many times, I'm not going to be calculating them in my total costs anymore. Overall, I love this outfit for the colors and the brightness- and of course all the wonderful jewelry! It's been a great day :)

Outfit 13: Roxy Black Dress

Dress: $4- CHKD Thrift Store
Well, this outfit was not what I picked out for today. When I looked at the weather forecast for today when I woke up, I realized that it was gonna be cooler than I expected this morning. So, I pulled out this heavier dress from my wardrobe. Then I realized it didn't really matter since it'd warm up soon enough anyway, and 65 isn't actually cold. So, rather than wearing one dress, which is black with white and is strapless, I'm wearing a black 3/4 sleeves one, which has similar coloring. Oh well.

The dress is by the brand Roxy, which doesn't mean much to me, except that it's not usually too cheap. But I got it at a CHKD thrift store back in May when I was shopping with my oldest friend (obviously all I do with my friends is shop...)! It was only $3.99, and she convinced me to get it. I hadn't worn it yet, because the fabric is heavier, so I thought I'd have to wear it with leggings. But I decided to try it for today- just to see! And it's been super comfy and has kept me warm in my class.

Earrings: H&M - $4

The earrings are from H&M, if I remember correctly. I got them back in high school for only $4, and they've served me very well. They're starting to turn colors, but hey, as long as they look good with the outfit, I don't care! They're black and gold so they look perfect with the outfit for today!

Ring: Forever 21- $4.80

My butterfly ring was one of the first that I got back in July. It's from Forever 21, obviously, and was only $4.80. I didn't think I'd wear it a lot, but I think I've worn it more than any of my other rings. I love it! The gold with the black almost looks like lace, and I love anything that sparkles.

My shoes ($20), my belt (came with a dress), and my pearls ($4) have been pictured in Outfit 1Outfit 6, and Outfit 10, respectively. This is definitely a great outfit- the shoes were the most expensive part!
Total Cost: $37

Outfit 12: Dress Jeans and Orange Blouse

Starting the week on a good note!

I had no intentions of wearing orange two outfits in a row! My sister actually picked out an entirely different outfit for me last night, but I just wasn't feeling it this morning. So instead I went for something I'd never worn before!

Jeans: Marshall's (AE) $20
I got the jeans two years ago at Marshall's. They were on sale for $20, and they're American Eagle- so that's an awesome deal! I've worn them out a bit- I think they're missing a button on a back pocket and the bottoms are a bit frayed, but they still look great! Because they're wider in the leg they are a little bit dresser and look great with heels- but I went for cute flats today instead- I knew I'd be walking around a bit!

Shirt: Hand-me-down!

My orange blouse was actually a hand-me-down from a friend. She was going through her closet, and didn't want it anymore, so I ended up with it! I'd never worn it before, but figured I'd give it a shot today! I got tons of compliments on it- so I think it went over pretty well! It's definitely something I'll wear again. The white cami underneath it was probably only $5- just a basic piece of my wardrobe :)

Earrings: Penelope's- $10

My earrings were a purchase from Penelope's, the same jewelry store in my hometown that I got my colorful bracelet from in outfit 10! I got them years ago- but I think they were only $10. I love that they match almost anything, and are such a classic style. I could wear them as a pre-teen, teenager, and now as a young adult. They still look great!
Ring: Forever 21- $5.80

My ring is my favorite piece of my wardrobe today! It's so gorgeous- all of the colors and it's so large! When I saw it in the store at the end of July, it was a must-have, and I wore it out of the store. It's definitely my favorite of the butterfly rings :)

My shoes (gift) were in Outfit 9, so they're not pictured here. I love all the bright colors in this outfit, and am so glad I finally got to wear the orange blouse!

Outfit 11: Orange Shirt

Casual Date Night

Today's outfit is pretty basic- but since it's Saturday I didn't want to put too much effort in! I was wearing a skirt earlier in the day, but because my boyfriend and I wanted to go out for the evening and it was going to be cooler I switched to jeans :) This was a perfect casual date night outfit!

Shirt: Forever 21- $9 (Gift)

The orange shirt is from Forever 21, and was a Christmas gift! It was only $8.80, from what I remember though. I love it!

Necklace: Gift
The necklace was also a Christmas gift, so I don't know how much it cost or where it's from. It's so pretty though- I have really started to wear more gold jewelry than I have silver, and this necklace has gold charms, pink and orange beads, and a butterfly on it! For today's outfit, it's just the right accent to pull the outfit together. It's perfect!

Earrings: JC Penny's- $15 in a set

My earrings I got in a set at JC Penny's last year. They came with two smaller sets of gold balls, and were only $15 for all three! I knew I'd wear them a lot, and I sure have. They look good with almost anything!

My jeans were in Outfit 6 ($12) and my shoes were in Outfit 1 ($20) so they're not pictured here. This outfit was super comfortable and stylish- and with the right make-up and hair style it's great for going out!
Total Cost: $47

Outfit 10: Butterfly Dress

Butterfly Dress!

This outfit is perfect for today- one class, hanging out with a friend (aka shopping), and going to have a picnic dinner at the river! I was originally thinking about wearing a shorter dress, but a picnic dinner doesn't really work well when you have a short dress. So, I went for the one long dress I have- my butterfly dress!

Dress: BJ's- Gift from Mom
The dress was a gift from my mom went I was home earlier this summer. She and I were out shopping, and we stopped into BJ's to get food for my sister's graduation party! She told me she had just bought a white dress from there, and thought of me because it had butterflies on it! Because I hadn't seen the dress yet, she took me to where she got it in the store so I could see it, and then surprised me by getting me this purple dress (not the same as hers, but similar)! I absolutely love it! It's so light and comfortable, and is unlike anything else I have!

Belt: $1- CHKD Thrift Store

My brown and gold belt was a great addition to the dress- it adds a more defined waist and breaks up the pattern just enough! I got it at a CHKD thrift store last semester, for only a dollar!

Bracelet: Penelope's- $40 (8 years ago)
My bracelet is a very sentimental piece of jewelry for me. When I was 13, one of the popular jewelry stores in my hometown was Penelope's. I'm sure it's still a popular place, but I'm not home much anymore so I wouldn't know! Anyway, I had saved up my money to get something special from Penelope's. When we went in (my mom, my sister, and myself) I spent probably an hour deciding what I wanted to get. I fell in love with this bracelet- but it was $40! That's a lot for a 13 year-old. My mom asked me multiple times if I would actually wear it, if it would be worth it... if I was sure I wouldn't lose it. Well, I guess time has answered that! I love this bracelet, and I love that it goes with everything! It's absolutely gorgeous.
Earrings: Village Thrift- $4

My earrings (not a great picture of them, but good enough!) were a more recent purchase from 2 years ago. I got them at my favorite thrift store, Village Thrift, for $3.96. They're gold with a pearly design, and I love them for being so classic. I was thinking about wearing my pearl studs today, but those didn't quite fit- these did!

Necklace: Forever 21- $4

My pearl necklace is from Forever 21- so definitely not real! They were $3.80, and I thought they would be a nice addition to my jewelry when I bought them last week. They're classy too- and match the earrings well!

I've worn my shoes for Outfit 1, and the cardigan I wore for Outfit 4 so they're not here pictured here. I really like this outfit- it's very free-spirited but still very pretty. And, I feel like a butterfly!
Total Cost: $36

Outfit 9: Purple Dress and Music Necklace

Dress: $16- Target

So, late last night when I was finishing up studying for my test this morning, I asked my sister to pick out my outfit for today! When I told her that I hadn't worn a dress in over a week, she looked at me like crazy! It is pretty surprising though- I have 41 dresses in my closet right now, and love to wear them.

So, today's outfit is my purple dress! I bought it last summer at Target for $16- and it's been a favorite since. I like to wear it with leggings and boots in the winter, because the purple is always in season!

Dress: Marshall's
The shirt underneath the dress is actually another dress- but it's fitted really oddly and is thin material, so it's almost see-through. I've had it in my closet for at least 4 years- and kept holding on to it for some reason! When I recently went through my closet, I thought about putting these two together, and my sister made me try it on last night. Sure enough, it was a perfect match!
Shoes: Gift from Mom!
The shoes were a surprise gift from my mom last semester! She gave them to me over Spring Break because she didn't wear them, and thought I'd like them. Not only do they fit perfectly, but they're one of my favorite pairs! I get compliments all the time about them- and they go great with silver and gold! I also don't wear a lot of peep-toe shoes, and these shoes may have converted me... :)

Necklace: Gift
My music necklace was a gift over 4 years ago from a boyfriend at the time. While he got me a few pieces of nice jewelry, this was the only piece that really meant something to me. I love music, and it was sweet of him to recognize that about me and get me a necklace. That, and it was a total surprise!

My earrings and my ring I've worn before- both for Outfit 4! They were great accents for a simple summery outfit!
Total Cost: $24

Outfit 8: Navy Bermuda Shorts

Ready to spend the day studying!

Well, this is the outfit I was going to wear yesterday! Since I had a lot of work to today (a test, a paper, and I have another test tomorrow) I felt like a dedicated student in this classy outfit.

Bermuda Shorts: $10- TJ Max

The navy bermuda shorts are from TJ Max! I went shopping with my boyfriend Sunday evening, and found them on the clearance rack. For only $10, they were a steal. They're great quality, and look great with almost anything.

Shirts: $15- Target
My shirt is from Target, and while it doesn't hold it's shape very well, it's a great go-to shirt. It's comfy and looks nicer than just throwing on an old T-shirt. I put the green cami underneath it because it keeps the outfit looking slim, and adds my favorite color to it!

Necklace: $4.80 Forever 21

My necklace is Forever 21, of course, and has butterflies! I love it because it's gold and is basic- not too big or flashy. And, with my shoes, I needed a gold accent!

Earrings: CHKD Thrift Store: 79 cents

My earrings are beautiful bright gold- and I got them for only 79 cents at a CHKD thrift store a couple weeks ago! They are so fun and different- I love them!

My shoes are the same as yesterday (Outfit 7), and my outfit today is definitely something I look forward to wearing again! Sorry to keep it brief- I have lots of studying ahead of me tonight!
Total Cost: $36
